The government of Haiti does not offer free public education to its citizens. Health and Education for Haiti sponsors the education for the poorest children in Haiti.
We work with the community leaders to determine the education needs in the community, and to build a sustainable education plan that will maximize the impact of the resources provided to the community. This may include building a school, providing textbooks and class materials, teacher salaries, and providing school uniforms for the children of Haiti. In the future, we would like to provide adult education programs in critical areas such as sustainable agriculture to prevent the continued erosion of the natural resources of Haiti.
